The Anthracite units are the only other full production version of the system other than the silver units. These units are very similar to the production silver units but had minor improvements to the hardware. They had minor improvements to their wireless as well as their controllers being updated. They also had a matte black plastic finish identical to the limited edition Matte Black 16GB units.

These units replaced the limited edition Matte Black 16GB units. The biggest addition that these units brought to the table were the much improved controllers. These controllers had the design of the triggers changed, the analog sticks were also changed to have small ridges along the outside similar to the Xbox 360 controllers, and most importantly improved bluetooth connection.
